Books as an Infant Industry

For all of my Journalist majors out there (I have quite a few in my Tuesday Thursday class) this is a post for you. Basically the issue is: how so you go from the invention of the printing press to a thriving industry for books? This is an interesting read.

  2. Being a journalism major this article was interesting. While it talks mostly about print in books, i think the larger issue is print of all forms. With the technology of today people are straying away from buying the hard copies of the printed material and using other forms to get the same information. While I do understand everyone's stress and frustration with this, I do not think the industry will suffer to much, but instead transform into something bigger and better. It is hard to be a journalism major with the constant criticism of the dying profession, but i believe that there will always be a need for information to be given to the public as in the form of news, or novels. People will just have to adjust to the ever changing way of getting the information to the people.
